How do I find an Internship?
Before a Trinity student begins to look for an internship, she should decide if she would like to complete an internship for credit or noncredit. Particular application instructions pertain to each choice. Once that has been determined, the process of finding an internship is the same as finding a job:
- Network: Let people know you are looking for an internship in your field.
- Research: Explore internship opportunities at Career Services or online (see below).
- Learn: Find out as much as you can about the organization by contacting other students, alumnae or employees who’ve worked there.
- Prepare: Update/create your resume and cover letter by obtaining feedback from Career Services or the Writing Center. Practice interviewing. You can create your resume and receive critique from Trinity's Career Counselors here.
- Apply: Submit your resume and cover letter to the contact person. If necessary, follow up at appropriate time.
Students can also search for internships posted in the Trinity Online Career Center.
How do I get credit from Trinity?
Once an internship has been obtained, a student must complete an Internship Agreement form with her faculty advisor. The student should obtain all necessary signatures before submitting the agreement with her registration. The completed Internship Agreement form must be received by the ADD/DROP deadline in order to receive credit and a grade for the semester. An evaluations is to be completed by the student once the internship is complete. Visit the Career Center for more information on the application process.
