Trinity Web-Based Email

Guide to:

   Accessing Your Email

If you are a student, point your browser to https://studentmail.trinitydc.edu . If you are a Trinity employee, use https://webmail.trinitydc.edu instead. You should see a screen like the one on the right.

  1. Enter your Username in the first field.
  2. Enter your password in the second field.
  3. Press the "Log On" button.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  1. Make sure you are going to the correct site:
Student mail is located at https://studentmail.trinitydc.edu
  2. The password that was provided is case sensitive. Make sure it is typed correctly.
  3. You DO NOT need to type @students.trinitydc.edu after your username.

             Using Email

Once you have logged on using the above instructions, you will see a screen like the one at the right.

Column 1: lists your email folders and other outlook tools.

Column 2: lists message information such as the sender's address, the subject, and the date.

Column 3: displays the selected message.

             Forwarding Messages

To setup mail forwarding from your Trinity account follow the steps listed below.

          1. Log-in to your e-mail account.
          2. Click on "Rules" in the lower left corner.
          3. Press “New…” to create a new Rule.
          4. Give the rule a name.
          5. At the bottom select the "Forward it to" radial button and enter the e-mail address you want to forward it to. You can uncheck the box to "Keep a copy in my Inbox" or leave it blank, depending on what you prefer.  If you Keep a copy in your Inbox you will need to login to your account to delete messages when your mailbox gets full.

             Deleting Messages

Each student account has a 25 MB quota. Once this quota is reached, you will receive an automated email message stating you are over the limit. You will not be able to send or receive messages until you clean out your account.

          • To delete messages, select the message and click on the Delete.
          • To select consecutive messages click on the first and last message in the series while holding down the SHIFT key.

After deleting emails, you will need to empty your Deleted Items folder. This can be done by right-clicking on the folder and selecting "Empty Deleted Items".
